Yup, we used it in the field in Tijuana often. I have used it in an emergency myself. The UN puts together pre measured packets. The trick is not the salt and sugar, which Russians have in their rations…it is finding clean water.

Their rations also have water disinfection pills.

It tastes horrible. If you need it, and can…pedyalite is the same stuff, with improved flavor. In a pinch Gatorade works too.

In Europe they have the equivalent of these.
