Yes, but many Haredi volunteered after Oct 7. They are mostly doing supply and logistics jobs in the rear, freeing others to go to the front, including the logistics and repair base in Gaza. First time they operate one this close to the front since the Lebanon war.

Why?

They expect the northern front to open. So they are using this for real world practice.

And as to optimistic,I am as optimistic as possible. But the only way it’s going to happen is precisely digging out the educational system from the roots. This is what the UAE is now doing, and if they end in the mix, from all noise, this is the precise role they want.

Is this going to happen in a generation? Nope. In my estimation it will take a little longer.

But the moderate Arab states are also fed up. They all want the UN out of this mess.

And the reality is that this is the ME…the Arab street, ask Egypt, can turn on a dime.
