When the last of our parrots died, this is why we did not adopt another parrot. They live long lives.

We could have done a cockatiel, maybe Australian budgies. Both are in the life expectancy of a chihuahua, which is what we adopted at the pound.

Dexter is a special needs dog…he has atopic dermatitis. He also is my diabetes dog. And a retired Military Working Dog, so he has trauma from his service. I might regale medium with last nights adventure involving a police chopper.

If he lives to twenty he will put us at the border of not adopting another pet. If he lives a shorter life, then a healthier pooch is in our sights.
