We rescued Dexter (he is a special needs boy since he has atopic dermatitis) from the shelter. He is a seven year old Chi, and and a joy. He is extremely well trained. However. we miss the parrots. But at this point any parrot, save maybe a budgie, will outlive us. We were not willing to do that to an extremely intelligent being. So we adopted Dex, who is very intelligent. cuddly but will not outlive us. or at least should not.

The dog decided to detect my low blood sugars, and he does. He requires a lot more medical care than your normal run of the mill dog. If you decide to get another, and go the breeder route. make sure to also check for things like genetic issues in the line.
