Ukraine War Update

The war is slowly grinding down into a positional battle, especially in the east. Severodonetsk is a hard battle to assess because the ground changes all the time. It is brutal house-to-house combat, with many similarities to Stalingrad. However, like Stalingrad, Ukraine maintains a road in supply. The map I am using is dated. So use it only for geography when you hear references to the battle.

Most of these maps are dated within hours of publication. Even assuming authors are able to cut through the fog of war.

Russia decided to drop everything they had into this battle to try to take all of Luhansk and are facing incredibly high casualties. We know now Ukrainians are as well, but the balance still favors Ukraine. The battle is foggy in the extreme, with changes in positions every hour.

Realize Ukraine still has troops willing to go to the front. According to Igor Girkin, it’s always about Girkin; the mobiki, mobilized forces in Luhansk and Donetsk, are not keen to do so. We have seen some confirmation in the western press, with reports of units refusing to fight. However, not to the granularity that Girkin is providing.

This is but one example of this.

This is, of course, one of the videos that emerged with mobiki refusing to fight. Girkin is talking of far more than just two units.
