They Still Don’t Get It in the White House

The president is in the hospital. Though he is bored and wants to go home. None likes to be in the hospital. Let’s be honest here. But he believes it also makes him look weak. And for the president, all that matters is an image he needs to maintain. I have known toddlers with more maturity and patience. He is likely leaving against medical advice, which is easy to see if you have ever been in the medical field. But I digress. The White House Spokesperson Kayleigh McEnany has tested positive for COVID-19. She is the latest of the high profile people to test positive in this cluster. There are plenty of others far lower in the totem pole. You would expect the White House to have a muscular contact tracing operation in place.

They don’t. I guess it would be an admission that COVID is real and serious.

Nor are people who were exposed entering quarantine either. Not until they actually test positive, and as we saw with the president, likely not until after he got a positive test. In some cases, they are attending events even when waiting for results. Senator Ron Johnson attended an Oktoberfest event when still waiting for a COVID test as an example. CDC guidance says that he should have already been in quarantine.
