The January Six Hearing

The right is portraying these hearings as a show trial. They are also accusing Democrats of running a highly scripted Soviet trial. None of this is accidental. To them, democracy is a sham, and they’d rather live in a Christo-fascist society, that is post-truth, and rejects human rights and the protection of minorities.
People like this have been on the fringes of American politics. Now they are members of Congress.
We learned a few things.
It’s worse than we thought.
It was a programmatic plot with a method to the madness. Yes, Donald Trump is capable. This is literally how the mafia works.
It was a coup attempt. It almost succeeded.
