The Fuel Crisis in Russia Gets Deeper
This came via Important Stories, and it is a nice summary of what is happening in Russia. And what’s striking in this piece is that the media is reverting to Soviet practices, trying to paper over the crisis. If we do not cover it, well, it did not happen.
One comparison made by some in Russia is to the US fuel crisis during the 1973 embargo. I think it is actually worse than 1973. And then the authorities did not try to paper this over, but it was a crisis that affected the American economy for the rest of the decade. So here via Important Stories:
