The annual San Diego Marathon ran today. It used to have live music every few miles, which gives local bands some exposure. There are some bands along the route, mostly in commercial areas. In residential, we had a radio station doing the honor, and less loudly than in previous years.

The marathon attracts thousands of people. What is for sure is that some of the residents along Friars Road were torn. For a few, this was an invasion of their privacy since the marathon closes the street. While people can go out, getting back home is a problem. Getting out is not easy either, but in case of an emergency, EMS can always reach you. However, if you live along the route, plan for it on the first or second Sunday of June.

One of the neighbors was upset for another reason. If we are going to stay at home, at least we can get some cheap entertainment. The live bands are no longer there. In 2022, we could walk to at least one live band. But this year, a radio station is just piping the sound out.

However, there were live bands, just not near residential areas. The loud bands have been an issue over the years. This is this year’s program with mile location.
