I am tempted to say I told you so, but I won’t. Instead, I will point out the next series of attacks on the country. Anyone familiar with authoritarian personalities is not surprised. President Donald Trump campaigned on this, and now he is hitting every close ally and one not-so-close ally. Let me start with the EU because, for some reason, most of the press missed this.

Incidentally, in classic Trump, he accused Europe of mistreating the US. Many people who did not understand tariffs will miss the last two years of cheap eggs, gas, electronics, and car parts. We are about to enter another supply chain disruption. And with that, stock up on toilet paper, ok? So first, Europe and possibly Taiwan:

Trump announced new trade tariffs against the European Union and import tariffs on semiconductors, likely targeting China and, to a greater extent, Taiwan. He also stated that the Panama Canal will inevitably come under U.S. control.

I am sure you have heard of the twenty-five percent tariffs against Mexico and Canada and ten percent with China. Notice he is going after our two closest trading partners. After he forced the renegotiation of NAFTA during the last Trump administration, writing about the former closest trade partners will be accurate soon.

Incidentally, the US Stock exchange reacted immediately in the expected…
