Sometimes, the subtlest of things are signs that things are changing. Remember, the Russians continue to threaten to use nuclear weapons every day and twice on Sunday. Their latest test of the Satan Missile system was a failure, with the missile failing to leave the launch pad.

So, Yigal Levin posted this. Did CNN pick it up?

The United States has completed production of the first plutonium warhead for a nuclear charge after a 35-year hiatus.

The U.S. National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) announced the completion of the first plutonium warhead for the W87–1 modernized thermonuclear warhead. These plutonium “hearts” are key components of the U.S. thermonuclear warheads and play an important role in modernizing and expanding the arsenal. The process of creating the first such warhead lasted eight years and involved leading laboratories such as Los Alamos and Livermore.

NNSA’s goal is to restore production capacity to produce at least 80 plutonium warheads per year. Los Alamos plans to reach 30 warheads per year, and the Savannah River Site will be able to produce 50 warheads by the mid-2030s.
