Russians are Starting to Think
In the west, the practice of open-source intelligence is the norm. While particular weapon systems are seen as almost magical for the war, people do figure out what they do, and what they look like. In Russia, this is just starting, partially because this is not encouraged by the state.
This post in one of the Z-Channels went there:
In the Russian segment of Telegram, domestic Z-patriots often write that “we need mobilization, we cannot win in a relaxed state.” This means, first of all, the mobilization of production, military personnel from the reserve, the economy, even a kind of “mobilization of the spirit.” The latter is understood in the sense that a true patriot must shake off the dullness of everyday life and strive with all his being towards Victory. But almost no one writes about intellectual mobilization.
Here is a typical example of the rejection of this kind of mobilization. Dear Alexander Valeryevich talks about the imported M777 howitzer, referring to a certain author who, almost on a piece of newspaper, calculated the losses of these guns by the enemy. Naturally, the post contains neither the calculations themselves nor references to “Western expert shops”, which actually turned out to be Russian English-language resources.
That is, in Russia we do not have generally recognized OSINT resources…
