The attack on Makiivka resonated across the Russian information space. Many of the turbo nationalists were angry. I am sure so were the relatives of the mobilized. Russia fights wars both on the battlefield and in the information space. So here is a note r7n by a Ukrainian source about this because the anger remains.

Bear in mind the battle with Russia is at times put within the context of Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings. Vladimir Putin is Sauron in this mythology, and Russians are Orcs. Therefore, Russia is Mordor.

No, you are not reading that note wrong. It did not help that Putin gave nine rings to the leaders of the allied countries. I guess he has embraced his identity as Sauron, or it was his joke. Who said Putin has no sense of humor?
