Quilted Jackets are Back in Fashion, with a Side of Elections

First, we will discuss some import substitutions and new fashion trends in the motherland. It’s not just just buying domestic, we get that. After all, the decadent West produces costly high-end clothes that the government should not be caught in. Never mind, Vladimir Putin has been caught wearing costly Italian designer jackets.

Yesterday, we caught Dmitry Medvedev wearing Stalin-like clothes in more vibrant colors. I guess fuchsia blue is better than dull gray. But I digress.

Look at the photo attached to this critique via one of the nationalist channels:

Russian does not mean poor: why should the governor be dressed decently in our, domestic clothes?

Today one of the Kaliningrad media criticized the image of Governor Alikhanov. Not only did he dare to wear clothes for a routine inspection that cost more than the average salary in the region (74,301 rubles), but he also chose the hands-free “24 New Russian Brand”! It would be nice if a “white man” dressed up in Louis Vuitton or Versace, but no!
