Putin is Starting to Lose Control
Trans-Baikal State Duma deputy from United Russia, Lieutenant General Alexei Gurulev, said that the Ministry of Defense had lost 1.5 million sets of soldier’s uniforms. He wonders how the clothes “evaporated”, and no one can explain it.
Russia is mobilizing 300,000 men in the first phase. It’s supposed to mobilize over a million troops when all is said and done. Russia has a problem. Granted, it was obvious months ago. They would not have enough boots and uniforms because Russia's supply system is broken.
There are reasons why it is broken. The famous Russian kleptocracy extends to supply for the army. People are expected to make money. Selling off tank engines, battle rifles, and uniforms is not rare. You can buy these on EBay’s equivalent.
The newly mobilized are supposed to provide for everything. This ranges from batteries to flashlights, first aid kits, and body armor. Training is next to non-existent. Housing ranges from a field in Omsk to an indoor track in Penza.
