Update: I woke up to the news. Here is the list of people exchanged in the US. It’s a multi-party exchange reminiscent of the Cold War.

Wall Street Journal reporter Evan Gershkovich and former U.S. Marine Paul Whelan. They also include Alsu Kurmasheva and Vladimir Kara-Muza.

I am going to keep this short today. But we may start hearing of a prisoner exchange in the next few weeks. Over the last forty-eight hours, a few Russian telegram channels have been reporting in this vein. This is just the latest:

Political prisoners were advised to prepare petitions for pardon. This confirms the version about the authorities’ intention to exchange some of them

“ I have confirmation that there may be an exchange. Yesterday I was informed that some of the political prisoners were asked to write a petition for pardon addressed to Putin, and this was done .
