Point number one is not true. Ukrainian was suppressed, then allowed to flourish, then suppressed again. A decade, roughly, of allowed to flourish don’t count for much. Sane pattern as under the tsars by the way. The Soviet’s practiced the exact same Russification tactics as the tsars.

Point number two is straight out Russian propaganda, with a very small point of truth. The ROC is an instrument of the Russian empire, so this split in the Eastern Orthodox Church is neither new or unprecedented. Something similar happened in the 17th century as Ukraine, yes, the one you say did not exist, tried to establish a degree of more independence. It also led to the Mazepa revolt. You might want to look that up.
