Peace in Ukraine?
Something is happening, and possibly, we are heading to peace. This is one of the many rumors. While Emmanuel Macron is referring to this as the Korea solution, it also matches the German split at the end of the Second World War.
This will not be a NATO mission but a European one. This distinction matters, though I do not discount Ukraine joining NATO, like West Germany did at the end of the Second World War. That Happened on, May 6, 1955. Of note, East Germany joined the Warsaw Pact on May 14, 1955, a few days after it came to be.
So here is the possible peacekeeping mission:

📍Macron’s plan is based on the Korean scenario, according to which a foreign peacekeeping contingent is introduced to the line of contact.
📍It could consist of five brigades — about 40,000 soldiers.
📍Warsaw could take command of one of the brigades.
This is not a small force, and it does match some of what we have at the Korean DMZ. In case of a full-on attack, these forces would be a speed bump, but an attack would trigger a response.
