From time to time I like to write about life outside telegram channels. We all need distractions. So recently we started a Pathfinder campaign not set in Golarion, Paizo’s home setting, but rather in the Russia of Ivan the Terrible.
When I was reading (and still reading) into history, this part of Russian history screams high fantasy. There are some creatures from Russian myth that also scream high fantasy. Indeed, there is even a black dragon, with anywhere from three to seven heads that use fire as its breath weapon. Depending on the source it looks more like a serpent or a western dragon.
Realize Tiamat is not a Dungeons and Dragons mystical beast. It goes back to antiquity. Chinese dragons are more like serpents. So why not? We are also talking of central and Eastern Europe where werewolves and vampires are part of the lore. And Paizo has collections of monsters where a lot of these can be found. Though not the three-headed black dragon that spits out fire. There are tools online where it should be easy to modify a standard black dragon and give it fire, or even a multi-headed dragon.
