Another critical update. The defenders, including their commanders, surrendered. This means that if there is a partisan presence in Mariupol, it is not led by the defenders of the steel works. They fought a long battle, and in the end, were finally overcome. In the annals of warfare, this will go down with the resistance at the Warsaw Ghetto or even the 300 Spartans. They bought time for the rest of the army.

I can only theorize that this means not all of the defenders surrendered, and more than a few have gone partisan. This will only increase the issues for Russian troops, who will now be chasing ghosts. Doing this is quite demoralizing to a force, and personnel intensive.
