One thing that could easily implemented, but the food industry opposes it, is taxing sugary drinks. This is already the case in 50 nations. But the US lags because the industry owns Congress and state legislatures. It would be a good start.

We also need to get rid of vending machines in schools, abs get the companies out of the school kitchen.

These are good starts. Community gardens and communal kitchens could also help.

But convincing better to do Americans that this is not a moral failing will be even more fun, cause we love to do that.
