On the Road to Normalcy
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention relaxed mask-wearing. This means that if you are fully vaccinated, you can do a lot of things now. A sense of normality is returning. We may be able to ditch the masks very soon. This applies to those of us who are vaccinated. We can slowly return to the world.
This does not mean we are not nervous, but social distancing is over, as long as you are vaccinated.
The problem is how will this be enforced? will you have to show proof of vaccination? Will schools finally fully open? (My school districts are opening, but this is hardly all school districts now.) Will we have to wear a mask at the mall? Will we drop this requirement? Will my local health department change its recommendations?
Will people feel comfortable going to the supermarket without a mask? These are critical questions. How about the COVID skeptics that never believed this was real? what about those who refuse to take the vaccine?
This is a historic day in the United States.
It is not over yet. We are still some ways from getting more people vaccinated. Chiefly, we are a long way from this being over globally. it’s not just India. it’s Mexico and Canada. What about Europe? What about travel?
