A Valhallan tank

We have been fans of miniature games for a long time. It is one of the common interests that my husband and I share. We also sit down and paint, which also means we talk. Yes, we have a TV, and it is on a news channel. We rarely watch a series, and sometimes a movie. My husband plays a lot of computer games, which these days I cannot get into. I have tried and at some time I used to.

This brings me to Games Workshop. We have been playing the games for over two decades and have a lot of miniatures. I was looking forwards to a few upcoming releases, even if I had some doubts. The pace of releases continues to accelerate and it is pricey. The books alone eat a bit of my gaming budget, and the pace is such that it is almost impossible.

Then there is quality control and flavor of the month. In the 8th edition, they put out a few Knight codexes. This was where issues with quality control started to show up. They were obviously not well playtested. If you have a fast treadmill (an industry term) it is difficult to do a good job.

Then for fantasy, they release the Magothkin at the end of the first edition, and the faction feels abandoned. Never mind the counterparts in 40K receive quite a bit of love. This brings me to the favorite sons of the marketing department: Space Marines.
