Nuke Threats are Cynical
Early in the war last year I said that Russian threats of using nuclear weapons are cynical. They also come every time things are not going well. So this morning, this piece came through Volymedia, which has sources in both militaries.
So this report confirms what many of us have noted, including the Institute for the Study of War. It matters because this kind of confirmation is essential. It also tells us a lot more about the implied relationship between Belarus and Russia.
Why Putin wrote a story with tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus
The other day, Vladimir Putin, accused of war crimes*, made another loud statement. According to him, the Russian Federation will complete the construction of a storage facility for tactical nuclear weapons on the territory of Belarus by July 1. And from April 3, instructors of the Russian Aerospace Forces will begin to train Belarusian pilots to handle this type of weapons. Putin assured that 10 aircraft of the Belarusian Air Force were specially converted for the use of tactical nuclear weapons.
Putin’s statements* are outright lies. Maybe he believes in her, maybe not, but it doesn’t change the essence of the matter.
