Let’s start with Abbas Gallyamov, whom I have not shared recently. His work as a speechwriter for Vladimir Putin might have given him some insight we all lack.

So here is his view of this. Then, we will cover what we know in swift-moving developments:

“Any attempts to oppose the “general line” of reconciliation with the US will be suppressed .” Putin’s former speechwriter on the prospects for a peace deal and the consequences of ending the war for Moscow

US President Donald Trump announced the signing of a rare earth metals agreement with Zelensky on February 28, but the key question remains on the agenda: what positions will the parties take in peace talks and what concessions is Putin prepared to make? We spoke with Putin’s former speechwriter, political scientist Abbas Gallyamov* about the mood in the elites at the start of peace talks.

💬 Ukraine is part of a deal between the US and Russia. Trump is ready to “surrender” Ukraine in exchange for Putin’s concessions in other regions — for example, in the Middle East, Latin America or on OPEC issues. The transfer of rights to extract resources in the Arctic and Eastern Siberia to American companies is also being discussed.

💬 The peace terms are extremely unfavorable for Ukraine. Kiev is offered to admit a partial loss of territory
