National Mandates Must Come: COVID-19

New York City is the first major metropolitan area to enact a city-wide health passport. Proof of vaccination or negative tests will be required to enter entertainment venues, gyms, and restaurants. This is welcomed news, and I expect this to spread.

We have hit a brick wall when it comes to vaccinations. Many Americans refuse to get vaccinated for political, ideological, and economic reasons. It makes little sense unless one understands the level of purposeful misinformation perpetrated by conmen, political and religious leaders alike. For some in the Republican Party, especially those in leadership, this is about the 2022 midterms. Kevin McCarthy wants to be Speaker, and he needs to recapture the House to do so. In a normal cycle, he would probably since the party in power tends to lose seats. This is hardly a normal year. Not with COVID 19, and the further radicalization of the party.

This is one reason he, and his party, have been fighting vaccines and health orders. It really does not matter to these people, who are mostly vaccinated, if a few hundred thousand Americans die.
