More on the Northern Winter Offensive and Other Stories
It’s time to update this, and Volymedia may be wrong. We are getting information that Belarus is preparing to hold winter maneuvers on those dates. We all know that the war on February 24 started with maneuvers. However, there is not a large concentration of forces. Instead, I suspect, Alexander Lukashenko told Vladimir Putin no when Putin insisted on a meeting in Minsk a few days ago.
Apparently, they are meeting again in the coming days. But all this noise seems meant (and likely has worked) to fix Ukrainian troops along the northern border.
This is the way that Alexey Arestovitch puts it:
The offensive from Belarus in the coming days is a stuffing designed to sow panic among Ukrainians.
As we can see: this information operation has been going on since summer.
“They’re about to attack Kiev…”
There are forces in Belarus that the enemy can use to provoke and keep our troops near the northern borders.
But there are no forces able to reach Kiev.
The Kremlin can habitually fire missiles at Ukraine, so do not ignore the alarms.
