Vladimir Osechkin, Russian Human Rifghts activist

First, this is a story that will be around for a while. So, through Vladimir Osechkin and Gulsgu.Net we learn another story from a Russian refugee. And we see these are serious family separations. First, the story is about class action lawsuits in the United States. This will be through ProPublica, which mostly has the most complete information in English:

We present the testimony of a political refugee from Russia, Alexei Ponomarev, who during a video call from an American prison (detention center) spoke about a family tragedy and the difficult situation of Russian political refugees and political prisoners, who began to be “closed” en masse from May-June right from the border after crossing from Mexico under the CBP One program.

In December 2023, Alexey and his wife Lina flew to Mexico with their children — 20-year-old Natasha and 15-year-old Anya. Alexey and Lina lived together for 25 years, almost all this time — in marriage, husband and wife. A happy love story with two daughters, but a vile war began and Alexey protested against the war as best he could, was subjected to repression and pressure, and after threats of arrest, torture and murder, Alexey and Lina fled Russia in the hope of salvation and protection in the United States. More than 9 months of tense waiting for a “pass” on the CBP-One, and on August 7, 2024, they entered the States…
