For those thinking this is Western propaganda, I offer these Russian sources. I think it’s important to see how the war is playing through Russian eyes. This is mostly coming from a Russian channel citing somebody in the Russian Ministry of Defense. I am using small sections. But here is a link to the full article.

A few other sources, both Western and, in this case, Igor Girkin’s channel, are cited as well. That is more for confirmation. With no further.

Through one of the channels on Telegram, we are getting more information on Refuseniks, meaning those who don’t want to go back to Ukraine. This is a serious problem for the Russian Army, though this tells us that Russia is having a two-fold problem.

The first is the outright refusal to serve for moral reasons. This is closer to the concept of conscientious objector. The other are soldiers who are seeing better economic prospects serving as mercenaries. Russia has several Private armies, with the best known being Wagner.

In recent weeks, there has been increasing information about the mass refusal of Russian servicemen to fight in Ukraine. Examples from the 205th Motorized Rifle Brigade in Krasnodar Krai, the 11th Air Assault Brigade, which has been fighting in the Kherson region since March, refused to send more than 100 conscripts and contractors from Buryatia to Ukraine, and…
