More Consequences of Trump’s Election and Other Stories

I wrote that Ukraine would be in trouble the day after the election. Rather, nobody would trust the United States ever again. So, as reported by Reuters, the Donald Trump plan is taking shape. This is via Ukrainian Telegram.

Trump’s Ukraine plan is becoming clear — territorial concessions, NATO is out of the question, — Reuters

▪️Trump is advised to freeze the current front line;
▪️Kellogg’s proposals suggest excluding Ukraine from NATO membership in the near future;
▪️Trump’s advisers will try to force Russia and Ukraine to negotiate using the “carrot and stick” method — stopping military aid to Ukraine in case of refusal to negotiate, or increasing aid if Russia refuses;
▪️Former officials believe that Trump will face Putin’s reluctance to start negotiations;
▪️Putin will not refuse to transfer four regions that he considers part of Russia, but does not fully control;
▪️A peace deal will depend on direct personal interaction between Trump, Putin and Zelensky.

This is not the worst, but it’s close. It is very close to a Ukrainian capitulation and the kind of victory that will embolden Russia.

Because I foresee the US leaving NATO, the consequences will be a future European war. It’s that simple. It’s peace in our times, now brought to the fore by Donald J. Trump. This will give time for Russia to rest, refit, and rearm and will leave Ukraine vulnerable.
