We all feel it in our bones. Ok, those of us paying attention. We are, at the very least, heading towards a Cold War. To paraphrase Naftali Bennett about Israel after October 7, “The Truman Wall has been pierced.”

This refers to The Truman Show, a perfect but dystopian movie. It was the ultimate reality show, and in the end, it collapsed when the protagonist found the exit from the set.

So, the Russia-Ukraine war has pierced that wall. We are now slowly realizing we will need troops:

To be able to defend itself in the event of a Russian attack, NATO will need 35–50 additional brigades — Reuters , citing a military source familiar with the situation. In terms of fighters (considering that there are from 3,000 to 7,000 soldiers in a NATO brigade), to defend Europe, the Alliance needs to find/train somewhere from 150 to 300 thousand military reserve personnel.
