Marjorie Taylor Greene and American Fascism
So the judge said that Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene was qualified for the ballot. This is not about her January 6 participation, but about how she celebrated this win. It was very telling.
Her Tweet had all the elements of Fashwave, even if some of the obvious symbols were not there. This is the kind of art that circulates in QAnon boards, and you could say this was clearly signaling to the extremist right where she stands.
There was a time, not even that long ago, that this open embrace of the far-right was called out by leadership. At this point, this is what happens when you negotiate with terrorists, this same leadership is dead afraid of this fascist, America First, corner of Congress.
To be blunt, Kevin McCarthy has acted like a coward. Yes, there are tapes. He will never be Speaker. Primaries are selecting even more radical right candidates. At least Greene can read the room. Because to be blunt, neither McCarthy nor Leader Mitch McConnell can.
These are the kinds of things that are bizarre. But are also neo-nazi in nature. I am not even going to design them with the cleaned-up name they use in public. That one was designed to clean up the image, as you saw in khakis and polos at Charlottesville. The combat boots and battle flags were replaced by crew cuts and things that unless you are aware of what you are looking for, look. pretty mild.
This image. is not innocent, It is clearly signaling to a fascist base that is ready to destroy American democracy, in the name of freedom of course.
