Knowledge and a Weight Loss Journey
Most of us have been here at some point, We gained a few or many pounds. We were told by doctors and friends that it was important to lose weight. Chiefly, we were told a cute one that originated with the food industry, eat less, move more. To be honest, losing weight is one of the most challenging things I have ever done, however, it was not the exercise. For that matter, it was not eating less of the wrong types of foods. I tried a few times before I succeeded. However, there are a few things that happened along the way that I think it is important to share. Why? In the middle of it, it’s easy to get discouraged. Especially if you reach the point where you plateau, which is a reality of weight loss. Or you continue to eat the wrong foods, which means you never feel satisfied, and you feel like you cannot quit those foods. For that matter, when people tell you that you should exercise more and that everything is allowed in your diet.
So I would like to share some of the lessons I learned. Some are not so recent, some are very recent. They matter because some of the information we have about what is a healthy diet is not new. But the messaging is muddled by design because there are forces at play that would love it if you keep eating the way you are. It’s not personal, it’s business.
