It’s complicated since both sides deny each other’s existence.

They BOTH need to be held to account, and chiefly how they think about each other. I am a fan of a two state solution to that mess.

However, many American Jews, especially those that do Aliyah, are not just toxic, they are the main opponents to solving this crisis. They are at the heart of the settlement movement. Meir Kahane was a leader of it.

Russian Jews can be just as toxic for entirely different reasons.

Then there is the Likud. It is a right ward movement that controlled Israeli politics. It’s a proportional representation in the Parliament, giving even more radical parties to the right a way to control the government.

I am hoping that now that Bibi Netanyahu lost control, it will moderate Israeli politics, and allow for negotiations. Recognition from some big Arab states will put pressure on both sides.

As to Putin, he thought he could get away with it because he has, since the second Chechen war in the 1990s.
