It’s called soft power, it’s also called self interest. Like the 1990s it will be driven by the very real fear of lose nukes. If Russia breaks up, I expect it, doubly so with successor states. It’s one way to avoid the kind of chaos that could lead to low level warfare for the next fifty years.


It’s not out of the goodness of our hearts.

There are already plans to help Ukraine rebuild, both at the regional level, and international institutions. And it’s also self interest.

Russia…I am sure there are conversations starting in certain places, but one condition will be Russian reparations to Ukraine and the end of the current kleptocracy led by the security services.
