Yesterday something happened in between all the threats of a dirty bomb. To be fair, most people who matter are not showing any fear. So yesterday, Russia sent signals that it wants to talk.

Yes, I am reading the leaves here. However, I am not the only one. A Russian telegram channel picked the same thing I did in Tass. So first, the Tass post, with the proper highlight:

▪️The Moscow Regional Court will check the legality of the sentence of the basketball player Greiner convicted in the Russian Federation. ▪️An earthquake of magnitude 4.6 hit Lake Baikal.

▪️The Security Council announced a new approach to relations with the West in the Foreign Policy Concept of the Russian Federation.

In all that, they had two things. The minor one directed at the US is the reconsideration of Brittney Griner’s nine-and-a-half-year sentence. This could be a gift to the US to get them to the table.
