I was born in Mexico, raised in Mexico…the genocide is not even a point of argument. Hell, it is in 4th grade history textbooks produced by the state. It is far more complex than the simple black legend created by Americans, even in those textbooks…so is the origin of the mystic race. But to say that the Spanish respected the human rights of native peoples is beyond a stretch.

There is racism in Mexico as well, which has its origins in the ley de castas that was strictly enforced. Kudos for the creativity though. This is also a tad of white washing.
