I Owe my Readers An Apology

Yes, I got the last last of the Romanovs wrong. I have no idea why Alexander came to mind, and not Nicolas. I should have checked myself before going to print.

Well, I have an idea, but it is a silly excuse. It’s up to the material I am currently reading, as I try to learn as much as I can about the Caucasus. Why? This is a region I expect to see troubles, since there are calls for independence among some Dagestanis, and no love lost with Ramzan Kadyrov. Until recently most of us did not learn Russian colonial history.

So my apologies.

I think a short hand list of 19th century and 20th century Tsars is in order to have besides my computer. I still believe what is happening now has definite echoes to what we saw in 1917.

History does not repeat, but it does echo. Especially when that history is not confronted.
