In most countries, humor, satire, and political jokes are safe subjects. Lampooning leaders is normal. Satire might play a role in the USSR and now in Russian Space.

One of my political science professors in college told me that humor and satire took on another important role while he was in the CIA. He was the first to point to this nugget. Humor tells of the mood in, at his time, the Soviet street. Now I pay attention to humor in the digital street.

These were so important that a former CIA director requested these in the daily briefing. That was George Walker Bush. It was not just comic relief, though some jokes are honestly funny.

So, today I will be sharing some of the lovelies that have recently appeared on Telegram. It’s light, it's also Sunday, and we all need a laugh. But realize, there is a serious side to this. Before we see most Russians in the streets, and that may never happen, they will share this.

First, a classic of the late Soviet era has made its way back to the network, perhaps the consciousness of older Russians. Even the young will get the joke. So here it goes:
