Here is one effect you probably did not think about. Most people don’t. Incidentally this is why Miami don’t want spring breakers no more.

I used to be a medic in Tijuana. Spring break meant many less well to do American college students in Rosarito. The whole region went on tactical alert for EMS, fire and police. Spring break meant cash infusion, but it also meant a higher load to city and state services because we had an increased volume of calls. It matched, in volume, the Holy Week break. When they matched, we actually preferred it.

Some were the expected medical calls, but more than a few came from vehicle accidents and fights. Did I mention fights? Good, some got nasty.

And this is before pointing to the less than stellar behavior, like, I am not kidding, shifting on front yards.
