Funny, after Oct 7 yeshivah kids are joining the army in droves. Large enough droves? We shall see. But if they cook, the cook can move to other duties.

The attacks changed Israeli society. Also Arab Israelis are joining, like they have in past, but numbers are larger. Druze volunteers are also growing. That they have been part of the army is not new either.

However, it’s not my imagination that things are getting worse in the West, or that fifty percent of British Jews are thinking about it. I know American Jews are as well. Think about it…moving to a war zone feels safer for Jews. Israel was not there in the 1930s and 40s. So six million died abd vibrant communities were destroyed.

Jews have not fully recovered from the Holocaust either. The whole global population is less than half of the state of California. So, here we are.

After the guns grow silent, hopefully soon, there is going to be hell to pay for the Israeli government.
