Dnipro Strike

So overnight, the Russian Federation struck Dnipro with a more advanced weapon. Before sharing the Important Stories version of events, I think the more technical information from Volyamedia matters:

The strike on the Dnieper was a test for Russian missiles

Early in the morning of November 21, the Russian Armed Forces attacked the Yuzhmash plant in the city of Dnepr.

According to sources in the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, the strike was not carried out by an intercontinental ballistic missile capable of carrying a nuclear charge, but by a medium-range missile, also suitable for delivering a nuclear charge to the target. At the same time, the missiles did not carry a high-explosive charge, much less a nuclear charge. They were equipped with special weight substitutes. The video shows that after the missiles hit, there were no flashes or clouds of smoke.

The unpublicized goal of the launch was to check how this type of weapon would behave in combat. The public goal was to “send a signal” to the US and EU that the same “things,” as the General Staff officer put it, could fly to targets in Europe.

At the same time, there was no confidence in the successful use of the missile until the very end. Just as the military has no confidence that any of the possible subsequent launches will be successful.
