Russia is the last colonial power. As such it is one that justifies everything it does as something r Russia does to benefit it and her colonies. It’s not a distant Russian empire, but a continent-wide one.

From time to time some Russians admit to the nature of the state. It is a statist imperial system. The Russian Imperial Movement is proud of this past. What Russians don’t like is when this criticism comes from the West, mainly the main adversary, that be the United States. So this post this morning offers this perspective.

Paul Goble is an American political scientist who devoted his life to the cause of the collapse of the Russian statehood. He started doing this back in Soviet times.
