COVID has Evolved, the Politics Have Not

The Centers for Disease Control did not change. COVID did. This is not surprising given the nature of viruses and how they evolve. This one has become that more efficient in infecting new hosts. When it first appeared, and we were very lucky, it spread at a rate of one to three infections per person that got sick. This was a low rate of transmission, and we were very lucky indeed.
