This morning, this came through. We have the first soldier who reportedly died after refusing to go to Ukraine. I will speculate this is the first we know of. With the way Russia works, it's impossible that this is the first.

However, knowing it’s starting to happen matters. This may begin to wake a few more Russians. It may frighten others to do nothing as well. So, this news could be a double-edged sword.

It will create some conflict and perhaps some more open resistance. But as usual, this is just one more crack in the ice.

ASTRA recorded the first death of a military man after being in an illegal prison for conscientious objectors in Rassypny “LPR”. Colleagues of the victim said that after the beatings he was “all blue”; the cause of death included broken ribs

Relatives were told that the soldier died under fire

The last time Mikhail [name changed] (military unit 61899) got in touch was on November 1 — he said that any day now he should be sent on a combat mission. On the same day, his colleagues told his relatives that Mikhail was taken away by the military police.

After 3 days it became known that he was in an illegal prison, presumably in Zaitsevo in the “LPR”. “His colleague contacted me and said: “They put me in prison, and Misha is also…
