It finally happened. President Volodymyr Zelensky is changing commanders in the middle of a war. The person replacing General Valery Zalushny is Colonel General Oleksandr Syrsky. He is now the new army chief. He was, until now, the head of the land forces.

This is the message from the outgoing commander-in-chief. I think it’s important:

Post by Valery Zaluzhny :

In the first difficult days of the Great War, we withstood a vile and strong enemy. We stood together. Our battle continues and changes every day. The 2022 goals are different from the 2024 goals. Therefore, everyone must change and adapt to new realities. To win too together.

We have just met with the Supreme Commander-in-Chief. An important and serious conversation.
It was decided that it was necessary to change approaches and strategies.

I am grateful to everyone who is nearby. The team of the General Staff, the Ministry of Defense, the President of Ukraine.

I am proud of each and everyone in the Armed Forces of Ukraine who are protecting the future of our children. All soldiers, sergeants and officers. I bow my head to everyone who gave their lives for Ukraine and freedom. We remember and will take revenge for everyone.

The Ukrainians will definitely win.
