Short edit, as I was reminded in the comments, Johnson was not the first. Let me quote the correction: Hmmm, Johnson April 9, Morawiecki, Fiala, Jansza March 15…

President Joe Biden visited Kyiv today. This is a critical show of support for Ukraine as we enter the second year of this war. During the visit, and I am relying on Ukrainian media for this, the president stated a few important things. This is according to Uniannet:

“We have assembled a coalition of nations from the Atlantic to the Pacific. NATO. Japan. Over 50 nations helping Ukraine defend itself with unprecedented economic, military and humanitarian support.

The world’s strongest economies have come together to cut off the lifeblood of the Russian economy. Together we have assembled 700 tanks and thousands of armored vehicles, a thousand artillery systems and more than 2 million artillery ammunition, more than 50 missile systems, air defense systems,” he said.

He also highlighted the start of the war last year and that the United States, and the coalition, stand with Ukraine. The American media is highlighting a few other aspects of the trip. I would like to highlight just how much aid has been collected, so far. The Box of Pandora is citing the president this way:

Together we assembled 700 tanks and thousands of armored vehicles, a thousand artillery systems and more than 2 million artillery ammunition, more than 50 missile systems, air defense systems — Biden.

So let’s deal with Russia and the Russian reaction because it’s there. The first one was that we informed Moscow, to avoid a misunderstanding that could lead to a hot war between the two countries. The deconfliction line has been there since the Cold War. So I think it’s time to turn to some of the toxic Russian reactions to this visit. It’s an aspect that is very telling of how this was received.

The first was a comment from Dmitri Medevev. It’s funny and childish at the same time:

Medvedev says that Biden went to Kyiv, having previously received permission from Putin “safety guarantees”.

Unlike a lot of the Z-channel participants Dima was president and prime minister of the Russian Federation. He knows how that deconfliction like works. He is aware this was not asking…
