Belgorod, Elections, and the Black Sea Fleet

Let’s start with Belgorod, which is increasingly becoming a gray zone. Yes, the war has come to the Federation, or at least the border regions. So this appeared today after more attacks on Belgorod; more on that in a tad. This is an incredible statement and intent. My read is that the Russian units, some fighting in Aadvedka, intended to make Belgorod a base of operations in the coming civil war:

The Legion “Freedom of Russia” declares that in the near future it will again intensify its activities in the Belgorod direction. Legion fighters call on residents of the Belgorod region to provide them with accurate information about the places of residence of accomplices of the Putin regime, the locations of Putin’s troops, their routes of movement, and military installations. This is necessary for an effective military fight against Kremlin tyranny, for greater accuracy of strikes, and to avoid civilian casualties.

Now, this is not accidental. During the summer, both the Legion and the RDK raided the border between Belgorod and Ukraine. So this open declaration of intent tells me they think there is more behind the scenes than we understand watching from the outside.

For the moment, here is what happened overnight. It’s hardly isolated at this point:

Belgorod now. Dead and injured are reported
