An explosion of a Major Pipeline in St Petersburg
An important update on the naval base of Novorossiysk. It was a Ukrainian attack. This has important implication for the Black Fleet. Here, the important lede:
The explosion in Novorossiysk showed the vulnerability of the base of the Black Sea Fleet to Ukrainian naval drones Russian and Western OSINT researchers confirmed the strike of a Ukrainian drone on Novorossiysk. This indicates that not only Sevastopol is vulnerable to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, but also the second most important base of the Black Sea Fleet.
Has the war come home? Are comfortable people in one of the two main cities in the Russian Empire facing a cold winter? Was the damage that bad? We will never know.
However, I want to look at this singular event through one of my Russian sources. It’s a fascinating take, given the policy of targeting civilian infrastructure and trying to force Ukrainian abdication through a strategic campaign.
