While US Intel has yet to release the unclassified material, Russia is trying to get ahead of the story. Or at least some in Russia are attempting this because the destruction of that dam is a war crime.
Yesterday, for context, Volymedia ran two stories that directly contradicted each other. One version, to sum them up, Russia did it. The other, Ukraine, did it. So this morning, they ran this. Remember, if this is the case, and it might be because the explosion also took Russian troops, then dead heroes cannot contradict the official tale. And in this case, it’s whatever the tail happens to be. It also tells us that responsibility for this is the lowest enlisted and officer ranks in the army.
So this is the piece, and the blame game begins. Because this is how higher-ranking officers hope to avoid responsibility if we should end up with a war crimes tribunal. Though realize, they knew they were planning to do it later in the week:
